A Christmas Present for the Grandparents
I've been having trouble viewing my blog (I think our ancient computer has something wrong with it, although it's only MY blog that's not working), so I haven't posted for a while, but here I'm going to give it another go. This is meant to be an accordian album (6x6 My Creations Memory Showcase), but a customer of mine suggested doing a workshop making a simple wall hanging, so, flip it on its side, and voila! I just need to rig up a ribbon or hanger of some sort at the top, and then I want to decorate the other side with summer papers and pics, so it'll be dual purpose. I think my parents will love it, and I'm not worried about ruining the surprise, as they are completely computer illiterate. They'll never know!
Supplies (all CTMH): My Creations Memory Showcase album, Jingle bulk B&T duos patterned paper, Tulip and Juniper cardstock, Twinkle Brads, HeartFelt Wonder Die-Cuts

A Card for SPCC 19

Hey, guess what! I made Top 5 at SPCC for my "You're a Star" card! I was so surprised to see it posted on their site, I think I shouted out! Anyway, that just made me more motivated to try this colour combo. It was a tricky one, I didn't know if I'd be able to manage it, but now I'm really happy with how well the colours go together. I didn't have anything even remotely close to the green, so I painted a piece of watercolour paper, which gives the card a bit of extra texture. This is a 6x6 card using a pattern from Wishes called "Pieced Together". Thanks for looking!
Supplies (all CTMH): Chocolate and Ocean Breeze cardstock, patterned paper (reverse side) from Whoops-A-Daisy Level 2 paper packet, My Stickease sticker from Caprice Level 1 (or Level 2) packet, Edge Anchor and Brads in Chocolate, small flowers in Chocolate and Colonial White, Clear Sparkles
Other: watercolour paper, Prima flowers, brown grosgrain ribbon, and Citrus Green acrylic paint from DecoArt

Flower Power

I made this layout using a pattern from Imagine, one of Close to My Heart's books, and pictures I took of my daughter last year at around this time. It takes me back to when it was just the two of us at home together, short-lived as it was. Once I started working, we didn't have much Mommy-Daughter time. Oh well, that's why I scrapbook these memories. One day she'll know that we had some fun times, just the two of us at home...
The Finally Friday challenge at SPCC is to use flowers, and so here ya have it, a layout with flowered paper and flower stickers. Gotta say, I love this girly Bella paper pack!
Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Bella Level 2 paper packet, Olive and Vanilla Cream cardstock, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Smokey Plum and Hollyhock, My Stickease from Bella Level 1 paper packet
Other: date stamp, purple pen from Creative Memories, embroidery floss, green and pink ribbon from My Little Shoebox, purple ribbon

New! Wonder Heartfelt Die-Cuts!

I ordered these felt shapes from Close to My Heart with my last order, and I was pretty stoked! What a great deal for $12.50! They come in three 12x12 sheets, so at first, you can't tell all what you're getting. So last night I spent some time punching out all of the shapes, and wow! My favourites are the snowflakes and the cute little hedgehogs. Here they are all piled up together.

25 Card Workshop for $15

Wow, look at all of these beautiful Christmas cards! I'm on a total creative high just looking at the mass of them, and they were very simple to make. If you are interested in getting a whole schwack of cards done in one sitting, then this workshop is for you. The $15 fee includes 25 card bases and envelopes, 3 sheets of B&T Duo paper, 4 sheets of cardstock, and the use of my stamps and inks. Optional upgrades are stamp sets and inks, twinkle brads, and clear sparkles. (I used the twinkle brads and clear sparkles on my cards, and I think they add just the right amount of pizzazz!)
Date: Sunday, November 8, 2009
Time: 1 p.m. until whenever we're done!
Place: TBA
You can contact me here or by email if you're interested in coming.

Scrapmaster's Paradise WCMD Combo #4
This color challenge was to use the colors:
I didn't have anything exactly the same, but I did find this picture that I've been meaning to scrapbook or frame for a really long time. It's a photo from 3 years ago, when we had just moved to Dawson City. The whole family had to travel down to Whitehorse to sign some papers for the purchase of our first house! (I miss that little house so much!) Anyway, we stopped for a snack and short hike at Five Finger Rapids, where the leaves were just vibrant! They perfectly match the Honey cardstock die cut frame and heart I used. My sweater was a harder colour to match, and I had to make my own colour using red and white paint. I would never have thought of using a pale purple with this photo as an accent colour, but I think it gives just the right contrast, so thanks to Scrapmaster's Paradise for coming up with this combo.
I do need to add some more journaling to this layout, because right now there are no details at all. I'm thinking of hiding it somewhere. Anyone else have any suggestions?
