Sweet Doggie

Here is a layout (minus the journaling) about my in-laws' dog Moose. It's hard to see from the pictures, but he was a real cutie! He was half Chow, half Golden Retriever, and everybody just loved him, even though he could be a bit of a stinker. He loved to escape from the yard and visit everyone in the neighbourhood! He died of old age a while back, poor guy, so I thought I'd let my husband do the journaling on this one, because they were pretty close.

Supplies (all CTMH): White Daisy cardstock, patterned paper and Twilight cardstock from Aspen Level 2 paper pack, Giggle Caps and Holiday Warmth My Acrylix stamp sets, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in Outdoor Denim, Heartfelt Wonder die cuts, White Daisy embossing powder

Silent Auction for Haiti

This is a double page spread that I was thinking of doing as a workshop, only it took a pretty long time, what with all the paper piecing and stamping. I love how it turned out, though, and I just had it sitting on my desk waiting for pictures. (Oh, yes, I totally lifted it from someone on the CTMH bulletin boards, too - sorry, can't remember your name!) Anyway, the principal at the school I work at announced a silent auction to raise some money for Haiti, and at first I didn't think I had anything to donate, but in the middle of the night, I thought of this. I suppose it's only useful for someone who already has 12x12 albums, so I'm not sure that anyone will bid on my item, but it's the best I could come up with on such short notice. It's really the first time I've put anything out in public!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper and cardstock from Sweet Home Level 2 paper pack, Neighbourhood and Chocolate Alphabet Large My Acrylix stamp sets, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Garnet, Indian Corn Blue, Olive, Desert Sand, and Cocoa, ribbon from Designer Chocolate Ribbon Rounds

Felicity Layout

I really wanted to use up some of my new Felicity paper pack, and these photos seemed to work pretty well. I can't believe this was over 7 years ago! Yikes! Please note that in the top photo, I am totally posing and waiting for someone to click the camera! This makes 8 layouts done out of 120 for the year.

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper and alphabet stamps from Felicity pack, textured cardstock in Desert Sand

Other: Versamark Ink, embossing powder from Judikins, fine-tip pen from Creative Memories

My Sleeping Beauty

Isn't she gorgeous? Well, I guess you can't really tell from the angle of these shots so much, teehee! She did this so many times, just crashing in the middle of the day wherever she happened to be. My favourite is the top one on the left page - she was looking at the ladies in the Sears catalogue, and fell asleep folded over on it.

I started this layout as a submission for a Design Dollies challenge. They wanted the colours turquoise, white, and lime green, but I kinda missed the deadline. Oh well, I do love those three colours together, and it's a bit of a departure from the regular pink I would use for a girlie layout. I also used a sketch from Becky Higgins' "Creative Sketches 2" for inspiration.

Supplies (all CTMH): White Daisy cardstock, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in Black, Felicity My Acrylix stamp set

Other: Bo Bunny patterned paper, Limeade Sugar Coated Cardstock and jewels by Doodlebug, black fine tip pen from Creative Memories, turquoise and green ink from Color Box

Design Dollies Sketch Challenge

This was one of those random photos that don't really go with anything else, and usually I like to scrap a bunch of photos on one page, so when I saw the Design Dollies sketch for this week, I thought it might work for this. It was a really easy page to create, with minimal supplies, and now my kids will be able to laugh at their old mama attempting to go for a bike ride. Plus, this is before I left the driveway, so there was no blood, mud, or guts showing. 6 down, 114 to go for the year!

Supplies (all CTMH): paper and stickers from Tinkerin' Level 1 pack

Colour Me Monday

I really loved the colour combination from Jeannette Lynton's blog this Monday (Cocoa, Crystal Blue, Garden Green, Hollyhock), so I knew I wanted to do something with it. I recently found these photos from seven and a half years ago, and the sky is a perfect match for Crystal Blue. Voila, another layout is born! Fancy going 4x4ing up a mountain when you're 8 months pregnant! As I was writing the journaling for this page, I realized that I'm at a sort of parallel time in my life right now - I'm 7 months pregnant, and we're about to buy a new vehicle, for safety but also to fit a third child! We may be saying goodbye to this trusty old Suzuki XL-7 as soon as next week.

Supplies (all CTMH): Garden Green and Cocoa cardstock, patterned paper from Boom-Di-Ada and Notebook Level 2 paper packets, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in Cocoa, Exclusive Inks marker in Cocoa, sticker from Notebook Level 2 My Stickease, My Acrylix Key to My Heart stamp set

Other: ribbon, staples, journaling spot from Prima

So this is 5 down, 115 to go for the 2010 Layout Challenge!

SPCC #29

Finally finished this page! Whoo! Been working on it for a few days now, but I think it was worth the effort. See that circle flower on the left hand side? That started out as an accent I was going to add on a card, but it just didn't work, so then I thought of turning it into a flower and putting that on a card. But why have one flower when you can add a whole schwack of them to a layout?Anyway, you can't really see from the photo, but there's a ton of dimension on this page- chipboard, buttons, brads, ribbon, hemp. It was fun!

Supplies (all CTMH): White Daisy, Tulip and Hollyhock cardstock, patterned paper from Boom-Di-Ada, Stardust, and Life Delights Level 2 paper packets, Giggle Caps, Classmate Alphabet, and Cottage Floral My Acrylix stamp sets, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Hollyhock and Tulip, Exclusive Inks marker in Tulip, White Daisy embossing powder, Twinkle Brad, White Daisy flower brad, Hemp

Other: flower punch and blue fine-tip and round-tip markers from Creative Memories, ribbon and ric-rac (various), buttons, and pink gems

2010 Layout Challenge #3

Here is a classic example of old pictures stored and not printed for a long, long time! My son is almost 7 and a half now, and these photos are from his 6th Birthday. Oh well, at least now they're ready for his album. The only problem is my white pen ran out of ink, so I will have to wait to put the journaling on until I get a new one. You just have to imagine how it will look with about 2 lines of white printing on the blue cardstock above the photo block there... Yes, yes, I can see it, and it looks all right...

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper and cardstock from Animal Cookies Level 2 paper pack, The Works Alphabet My Acrylix stamp set, White Daisy embossing powder, Natural Hemp

Other: Versamark Ink, buttons from my stash

Sketchy Thursdays and Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge

I made this layout to kill three birds with one stone- ha, betcha never tried that before, eh? The Sketchy Thursdays Challenge sketch fit my photos if I rotated the sketch, and I like how it turned out. I've had these photos of my nana and auntie for a while, but I didn't have paper to suit, until I broke out this Grace Level 2 paper pack from Close to My Heart. This was a brand spankin' new paper pack until this layout, so it goes well with the brand new challenge from Fussy and Fancy Friday Challenge of "new". I also finished a second layout for the 2010 Layout Challenge, so, Yay!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Grace Level 2 paper pack, Exclusive Inks marker in Cocoa

Other: brads from 7 Gypsies

Wow, I should get a prize for using the least amount of supplies! I didn't realize how few there were until I typed it out, tee hee!

First Layout of the New Year!

I've been working on this layout for a couple of days, but I officially finished it yesterday, so it counts as #1 in the 2010 Layout Challenge! Woohoo! Remember, I've joined a challenge group, and everyone has their own goal, but mine is to complete 120 layouts this year. I don't think I'll differentiate between double-page and single-page, to me it just depends on how many photos I need to put down.

Anyway, this turned out to be a very simple layout using a pattern from Cherish, called "Portrait Collection". I changed the right side a bit (the original pattern had two 5 x 3.5vertical photos and a journaling block), and I didn't have any Crystal Blue cardstock, so I sponged my White Daisy cardstock. The patterned paper is from a bulk pack of Emporium B&T duos, so I wanted to use it up and make a layout I could do as a workshop without ordering any supplies, but after further contemplation (and even seeking my husband's opinion!), I've decided it's a bit simple to use for a workshop. So, I'm not sure what to do as a kind of "club" layout. If any of you CTMH consultants have any ideas or suggestions for me, I'd really appreciate it!

Thanks for looking, and good luck getting started on your crafting goals this year!
