Hey, guess what? It's the one year anniversary of my first ever blog post! I just realized this a couple of days ago, so I thought I should put together a little blog candy. I've had so much fun blogging my creations, hearing others' comments, winning prizes, and meeting cool people from all over for the past 365 days that I decided it's time to give back. So, to be eligible, you must leave me a comment on this post letting me know that you've:
1. Become a follower (if you're already a follower, simply let me know that you want to be entered into the draw), for one entry.
2. Post this pic/link in the sidebar of your blog for a second entry.
3. Tell me your current favourite song and a book I should read (this is clearly for my own entertainment!) for a third entry.
And if you're from the Burns Lake area, you get an extra 2 entries (just because I can)! I will draw the winner, let's say next Friday (that's August 27th) at 9 p.m. Pacific Time. So spread the word, my loyal lovelies, as my goal is to gain another 30 followers (yikes, is that too many - oh well, aim high, right?)
P.S. Can anyone tell me how to keep this post at the top? Never done that before.
Congratulations! You made me think to check my own blog I may be coming up to (already past) my one year blogiversary .... hmmm, may have to do something about that.
ReplyDeleteAs for keeping it at the top, sorry, can't help you there. I thought there was a setting in the post options but I can't find it now.
Books: I am just finishing "The Friday Night Knitting Club" by Kate Jacobs and highly recommend it! If you're a fan of the Diana Gabaldon 'Outlander' series I recently read the latest book "An Echo In The Bone" and really enjoyed that too. Although, I'd reread the entire series first as there was a lot I'd forgotten.
Oh, I'm already a follower :)
congrats again!
congrats on your blogoversary :D
ReplyDeletei follow you but have no idea how to keep things on top LOL :D
Congrats on your first year! I am already a follower, I posted your link/picture on my sidebar (hope you reach your goal!) and my reading recommendation would be Dan Browns "The Lost Symbol" - a great read!! So many songs to choose one favourite, but love 21 Guns by Green Day.
ReplyDeleteHappy First Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHave added you to my blog list after seeing you on Roz's blog.
My new favorite author is Linwood Barclay if you like suspense/mystery stories, or mysteries with a scrapbooking theme try Paper,Scissors Death or Cut,Crop and Die by Joanna Campbell Slan.
My favorite song right now might be Remember When by Alan Jackson (not a really new one but I like it).
Happy Anniversary, I am not sure if I qualify because of the crazy prices they charge for postage but I still wanted to be a part of the fun. I have just finished reading "Fetish" by Tara Moss (a Canadian/Australian girl) could not put this down, then started "Fatal Attraction" by Carol Smith and finished in 2 days just could not leave this one alone either. So I have had a run of luck with books that I love, I am enjoying reading the posts here for more book ideas.
ReplyDeleteI don't listen to much music believe it or not but have recently downloaded "Katy Perry" and some of the "Glee" soundtrack but mainly so Nate and I can bop around the house to funky upbeat stuff. Love to you, Melxx
Hi Roxy, I visit a lot (especially to check out your Design Dollies challenges) and I'm now a follower :)
ReplyDeleteI notice you've got "The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time" on your 'to read' list - I read it a few years ago and can highly recommend it. Although it's a fiction story, it gives a very interesting insight into the mind of a boy with Asperger Syndrome - some of his challenges and 'idiosyncrasies' and thought processes hit very close to home for me, because my daughter also 'lives life in on the spectrum'.
ReplyDeleteAs for music, my tastes are extremely eclectic. I love some of Enrique's earlier music and wasn't sure if I liked his new single "I Like It"... but it's all over the radio here at the moment and it's growing on me :) I'm very tempted to get the new album. And also loving Sarah McLachlan's new album "Laws of Illusion" - nice 'chill out' music.
Congrats Rox!!! I just finished reading the first 2 books of The Girl with a Dragon Tattoo series. As for music, I listen to a lot of different types but I'm a country girl at heart. I have too many favs to mention but some fun ones are Dixie Chicks, Earl had to Die, and there is a new one, I'm not sure who it is by but I think the title is, I'll Pray for You (:
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary!! Love the music on your blog! I love reading (right up there with scraping!) Right now I've been reading lots of Lee Child books.
ReplyDeleteHi Roxy and Happy Anniversary! I became a follower. I don't have time to read a lot but my favorite current song is Sara Bareilles - King of Anything. Love this song!
ReplyDeleteHi again Roxy, I've posted on my sidebar now too :) The only way I know to make a post stay up the top is to future-date it?? You do that in the post options beneath the text field when you're typing up or editing your post.
ReplyDeleteJust stumbled upon your blog...it's fantastic. I am now a follower and will add pic/link on my side bar.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite book...So I Shot Lincoln.
Fav song...oh so many to pick from but all time #1 fav is Silent Lucidity by Queensaryche close second is State of Love and Trust by Pearl Jam.
Roxy...to keep something on top you have to had a gadget under your header (in Design mode). If you need the instructions email me and I'll tell you how. I just did it for my grand daugther's scrapbook blog and takes about one minute. Email:dreamsembellished@gmail.com
Congrats on your blogavesary!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm nor a follower :) (Although I do check this out often for the 2010 layout challenge).
Songs - I like the song that just started playing on your site (Cha-ching: Headley). I'm also enjoying our new Nickleback cd - Dark Horse (too many songs on there that I like to name), and I'm an avid Great Big Sea fan, but don't have their new cd yet.
Books - I'm reading Sara Donati's "Into the Wilderness" Series again. There are six books in the series,a nd I'm currently on #5.
