Tuckered out!

I have a layout that I want to share, but my camera battery died! So instead, I'll put up this picture of my kids. I had a card class on Sunday (my first one, and I think it went pretty well!) and while I was out with the car for the afternoon, Jason decided to walk downtown with the kids to the rink. Nolan skated, and Ailis got signed up for her skating lessons, then they had a snack at A&W, which gave them all tummy aches, and then slogged up the hill home. This was the end result! Too cute, I know.

2 Challenges In One!

Wow, I am so stoked that my last layout received 5 comments!!!!! Now I am so motivated that I decided to try not only another color challenge at SPCC, but a layout challenge at Scrapsketch as well.

So it took me a while to find some pictures to go along with the SPCC color challenge. Originally I wanted to find some fall pictures. But, failing that, I found these oldies (but goodies!) of my son. He was such a funny little guy, and check out those chubby cheeks! So kissable, muah!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Animal Cookies Level 2 paper packet, cardstock in Cocoa and Desert Sand, Classmate Alphabet and Thoughtful Seasons My Acrylix stamp sets, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in Cocoa, and Exclusive Inks marker in Cocoa

Other: journaling spot from Prima, Bazzill cardstock in Cheddar (I think?), and buttons stolen from my mom's stash (truly vintage, thanks,Mom!)

SPCC Color Challenge #16

So I finally have my first follower! Yay! And it's somebody I don't even know, so of course I had to check her out, and lo and behold, she holds a colour challenge every week. Pretty cool, I know! (If you click my little SPCC blinkie, you can check out Samantha's site.) So of course, I had to return the favour and become a follower, and this week I decided to create a layout I've been meaning to do for some time, and just never got around to. I mean, these pictures are ooooold! Check out our winter gear, and those skates! Awesome! I don't know what colours I would have used if it weren't for this colour challenge. It came along at the exact right time!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Notebook Level 2 paper packet, Ocean and White Daisy cardstock, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in White Daisy, and Picture Perfect and All Decked Out My Acrylix stamp sets

Other: raspberry coloured cardstock from Bazzill

First Card Workshop

I am so excited to be able to do my first workshop next weekend! All of my original plans for this workshop went up in smoke when my September Stamp of the Month set did not arrive with my last order (what happened????? Did I forget to click the right box on my order?) Well, being the true professional that I am (hahaha!), I just came up with these three cards for the ladies to try using Treetops My Acrylix stamp set. I chose the colour palette from one of the Idea Book pages, and went from there, using three different patterns from Wishes (truly a great resource book, especially for someone as inexperienced with cards as I am). I love the vibrant colours, and the fall-ish theme. Hopefully the ladies will love them too (fingers crossed)!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Bella level 2 paper packet, cardstock in Smokey Plum, Tulip, Garden Green, and Colonial White, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Creme Brulee, Tulip, Cocoa, and Olive, Treetops, Dainty Thoughts, and Annotations My Acrylix stamp sets

Other: Versamark Ink, clear embossing powder

Mojo Monday 104

I'm not sure why it took me soooooo long to do this card, and then actually post it. I think I probably missed the Mojo Monday deadline! It's been a pretty hectic week. I was called in for five days of work at three different schools, doing five different jobs. Crazy! But the good news is, I got a posting at my son's school, so I should be able to stay at the same place for a good while.

The other big news is that, even as I write this, I am starting to feel my baby move around! That has got to be the coolest thing about being pregnant again!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Emporium Level 2 paper packet, cardstock in Autumn Terracotta, Sweet Leaf, Colonial White and Cocoa, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Creme Brulee and Cocoa, Thankful Greeting My Acrylix stamp set, Exclusive Inks marker in Cocoa, ribbon from Designer Heartfelt Collection

An Easter Page?

Of course it's late in the year for an Easter page, but I just finished it! I like to scrapbook a little randomly these days. Anyway, this is a page for Ailis, and I really love how the blue Easter eggs pop on the page. And I know the title says "everyday LIFE", and this isn't an every day occurrence, but I still had to use that journaling spot, because it fit, and it had the right shade of blue on it. Hopefully she will overlook this detail when she's old enough to know better!

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from That's Amore Level 2 paper packet, cardstock in Cocoa and White Daisy, Easter Eggs and Moments in Time My Acrylix stamp set, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in Crystal Blue, Exclusive Inks marker in Cocoa

Other: journaling spot from My Little Yellow Bicycle

You Go, Girl!

I had the story written down for this picture ages ago, it just took this long to actually get the photo printed and then down on paper. This is my daughter Ailis, and she's 4 years old. She's also a real girly girl princess. The journaling tells how she was watching a nature show with her brother and her dad, and how the narrator said that caves were one of the least explored places by man. Then it showed a man base jumping into a cave. Ailis asked if girls and ladies could base jump too. I just thought it was so cute that I took a picture of her then and there.

For this layout, I decided to try a sketch challenge from Page Maps. It's a beautiful sketch, but the orientation was the wrong way for my photo, so I flipped it. I also tried my hand at making my own accents. The butterfly is an old die cut, which I painted blue and green to match the paper, then sprinkled on some prisma glitter. The bracket I traced onto some packing chipboard, cut with a craft knife, painted blue, and doused in prisma glitter. (Note to self, and anyone else reading this: wait until the liquid glass or glue is DRY before you try to attach your accent to the page! It will make life a whole lot easier!) Oh, yeah, and the piece that looks like ribbon at the bottom of the photo is actually just a strip of patterned paper.

Supplies (all CTMH): patterned paper from Emporium Level 2 paper packet, Classmat Alphabet My Acrylix stamp set, Exclusive Inks stamp pad in Crystal Blue, Exclusive Inks Marker in Cocoa, liquid glass, and prisma glitter

Other: journaling spot by Prima, butterfly die cut from Creative Memories, plain chipboard, staples, and blue and green acrylic paint by DecoArt

Mojo Monday 102

Well, this card did not turn out at all like I had hoped! Does that ever happen to you, where you're just going along, and then, hey, that doesn't work, and that's not going to fit. The card base was just too small to fit the images I wanted. I didn't give up, though, and this is how it ended up. I AM happy with the colors! They were inspired by pages 50 & 51 of the new Autumn/Winter 2009 Close to My Heart Idea Book, accessible to customers today on the CTMH website. (I have to try to figure out a link to that on here!)

Supplies (all CTMH): cardstock in Colonial White and Cocoa, patterned paper from Perfect Day Level 2 paper packet and Emporium Level 2 paper packet, No Peeking My Acrylix stamp set, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Cocoa, Tulip, and Sweet Leaf, Exclusive Inks marker in Tulip, and blending pen
