Layout #14 - Scrap-tures Spring Challenge

Just a quick post to show you this layout I completed, hopefully in time, for Scrap-tures blog challenge this week: Spring! These moose have been hanging around for a while now, and you can see in the photo of the baby that he's missing a patch of hair. Poor guy, not sure what happened to him. Anyway, it's not very often you can get close enough to a moose to capture a decent photo, so this was pretty neat to see them right outside our fence. Our neighbour isn't too happy, though - they were munching on his willow trees! I don't know about this layout though. It's kind of blah, don't you think? Not sure what I could've done with it to spruce it up, maybe some green around the journaling card? I'd like to hear your opinions! Oh, this is a GREAT Page Maps sketch from the winter issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today Magazine.

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket papers, Prima journaling card, Creative Memories pen, TLC letter stickers, CTMH White Daisy ink, unknown date stamp, ribbon, and twine

  1. Oh I just subscribed to that magazine so hope it doesn't take 3 months to get here, how lucky are you? getting those wonderful moose so close to your fence, great photos, maybe the young one has an allergy but he must be quite cold in that particular spot hey...I love the layout with the woodgrain background and the trees, we are so hard on ourselves hey, I am exactly the same....off to check the next post, I went away for the weekend and you miss so much. 2. I really like this layout Roxy, and I especially love the Moose! I'm not sure that I have ever seen a moose, not even in a zoo, but aren't they cute with their long faces and woolie ears?!!!

It's beginning to show signs of Spring here thank goodness, and although it feels like it has been a long old winter, I know that we have had nothing compared with you! However, last week we had a few sunny days, temps up to 16C and the trees have blossom and the daffodils are all out, so it's good!

I don't have a Cricut! Just a Cuttlebug, but I love it! I think the alphabet I used for my "friend" card was Bang! Zoom! I like it because it's a little bit funky!

Thanks for your lovely comments on my blog.

    Hugs, Carole xxx

  3. I kind of like it just the way it is (: Your attention goes straight to the pics and it`s not like moose are the blingy type!! That must have been so much fun for your kids!!! We live in the boonies but I don`t think I've ever seen a moose quite that close!
We had some nice weather for part of the March Break but then we got snow this past Monday and it's -30 with the wind chill this morning ): I wouldn't mind if Spring decided to get it's butt moving (:

  6. Great layout - love the moose. We used to get them wandering in our neighbourhood when I lived in PG but now we just get racoons, bunnies and the odd coyote. REALLY odd coyote!!
I love the layout the way it is but I understand why you feel it's a little unfinished. I don't know about you but I have a hard time leaving blank space. IMHO you should leave it for a bit and see what you think when you look at it after a couple weeks. If you want to add anything at that time, what about a little red misting on the wood grain under the pics? But seriously, walk away and let it alone for now! :)
