Birth Announcements on a Dime!

Wow, I haven't posted in quite some time! Could have something to do with having a newborn in the house! I forgot how much work it is to take care of a baby. But, birth announcements are a must, so I've been plugging away slowly at it. I really wanted to buy some new papers and stamps from Close to My Heart to do these, but in times of financial strain, you have to separate the "wants" from the "needs". So, the Topstitch paper pack and Love You Forever stamp set can wait, and really, I don't think anyone is going to know that I used materials I've had in my stash for a while (unless they read this blog, that is!) I decided to try my hand at a Michelle Zindorf style card. I stamped the stork image in black, then masked it with a circular piece of paper and sponged all around. This allowed me to use plain white card bases from my stash, plus, I didn't have to use any patterned paper. I used some clear photo corners to hold in the photo. That way, people can remove the pic and put it in an album or on their fridge or whatever. I got my husband to print out the announcements at his work (thanks honey!) seeing as our printer is down, and I just attached the paper with heart brads. Now all I have to do is make about 20 of them and mail them off... Hmm, could be a while!

Supplies (all CTMH): White Daisy card bases, Key to My Heart, Classmate Alphabet, and Around the Block My Acrylix stamp sets, Exclusive Inks stamp pads in Blush, Hollyhock, and Smokey Plum, Exclusive Inks Marker in Parchment, Watercolor pencils, and sponges

Other: stork stamp from PSX, photo corners from Creative Memories, brads from Making Memories
