Card #5 for CPS 220

Not exactly in love with this card, but it looks good enough to grace some little girl's birthday present, which is probably where it will end up one day. The problems started when I decided to paper piece Acorn Andrea's gown. Well, I'd like to see you try and do that with her bodice! IMPOSSIBLE!!! So, I coloured that part pink, but it looked too much like her robe, so I added some Glossy Accents, but that didn't really change anything. Last shot, I tried blue Stickles. Meh! Definitely not my best card, but certainly not my worst. That award goes to the card I made Jason for one of his birthdays. If I find it, I'll post it, give everyone a good laugh at my expense. He has it put away somewhere, and I can't believe he kept it, it is THE butt-ugliest thing ever! Must be love!

Remember a couple of posts ago I said "we" bought a canoe? "We" being a relative term, as I'm sure I won't use it if I can avoid it, haha! I'm not exactly the outdoorsy gal you all think I am, I just get dragged into these things by Jason. Anyhoo, story goes that we were feeling rather wealthy after selling our house, so Jason convinced me that buying a canoe would be a great thing to get for the family, he can get Nolan out of my hair on the weekends, fishing, boys time, blahblahblah... Yeah, okay, so if you guys get a canoe, what do I get? You can get your cutting thingey, he says. So I joined the rest of the free world and bought myself a Cuttlebug! I toyed with the idea of a Silhouette, but I wanted to do some embossing, too, and all the reviews on the cute little Cuttlebug were really good, so that's what I got. My mom was with me when I went into Walmart to buy it. "Sixty eight dollars??? That's so expensive!" I told her it was a heck of a lot cheaper than a canoe, and then pointed out the Cricut in the same aisle. Her eyes practically popped out of her head! Poor mom, she just doesn't understand this obsession, I guess. The point of this ramble, you ask? I used my new tool to emboss the purple cardstock!

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to Carole, Jenn J, Roz, Hollie, Alison, Tina, and Jenn. I have been reading your blogs and have tried many times to comment, but blogger just keeps asking me to sign in again. Grrrr, bleep you, blogger! Okay, I should go do a workout of some sort, but my inner lazy girl is telling me to sit and scrapbook a layout now...
