Layout #25 - Sketchy Thursdays and From Screen 2 Scrap

I haven't ever played along with From Screen 2 Scrap, so I decided to give it a go this month. These photos I snapped of Ailis a couple of weeks ago were just perfect for the challenge, which uses the movie poster from "Up" as inspiration. I also included clouds (on the patterned paper), balloons, and a homemade 3D embellishment (the dandelion) for an extra 6 points. The balloons are also homemade and 3D, I wonder if I get bonus points? Heehee! I was also able to use a gorgeous Sketchy Thursdays sketch for this one!

To make the dandelion, I followed instructions at the Scrapbooks etc. website (sorry, links are not working for me here.) Then, I paper-pieced my own balloons by just drawing one out on scrap, cutting out the bits and tracing them onto cardstock. I really like how they turned out! They took a lot longer to make than sticking on a sticker, or even colouring in a stamp, but it's easy to do if you don't have the supplies. Hey, if I can do it, anyone can!

I've mentioned before that Nolan is my "difficult" child. Well, Ailis is the "easy" child. She pretty much parents herself. This day, she spent ages picking dandelions and goofing off on the fence. I'm not sure what her imagination was making up, but she was happy just doing her thing!

Supplies: Close to My Heart cardstock and patterned paper, Bazzill cardstock (pink), Pink Paislee patterned paper (yellow), Heidi Swapp chipboard letters, Ranger Stickles, Ross glitter glue, Creative Memories pen, Michael's trim, Spellbinders Nestabilities, unknown hemp

  11. Great layout Roxy! Like everyone else that title and the balloons are amazing!

Right now I WISH I had an easy child. Yesterday was Sports Day (working on my post soon) and the 2y.o was in fine form (ie. wanted to be "up" all day), the 5y.o disappeared a couple times (PANIC!) only the 7y.o was problem free and that's because she wasn't under my supervision at all! Hmmm ... maybe the problem isn't the kids, maybe it's me!!!! LOL:)
Anyway, fab LO, love the pom poms too. I'm going to check out how to make those dandelions!
